Caring is easy.
We suggest popping your new microfibre printed yoga mat straight into the washing machine prior to use. For daily cleaning, wipe down with a water-based solution following practice and pop in the washing machine every month depending on the frequency of use.
Our cork yoga mat cannot be washed in the machine, please wipe down with a damp cloth.
To care for your movement garments, please wash on a delicate cycle within a garment bag and line dry in the shade. Please do not tumble dry or dry clean and wash with like-colours.
A strong environmental focus is at the core of yin. Our mission is to create a yoga brand that brings awareness to human and environmental issues, in particular the use of PVC and plastic and their disastrous impact on the planet. Take a look around and feel free to reach out: email@example.com
Is everything eco-friendly?
Yoga mats are manufactured from sustainable natural tree rubber ~ no PVC, silicone, phthalates and no single-use plastic. Our activewear collection is crafted from honest materials such as regenerated nylon, cotton and hemp.
What is regenerated nylon?
Our activewear is crafted from ECONYL recycled nylon: made from 78% recycled polyester and 22% elastane. ECONYL uses synthetic waste such as industrial plastic, waste fabric and reclaimed fishing nets.
Is regenerated nylon actually good for the environment?
ECONYL helps clean up our waterways and repurpose trash that would otherwise end up in landfill. The process of regeneration is a closed loop system using less water and less waste than traditional nylon production.
What can I do about microfibres?
There is just one teeny problem with using regenerated nylon: microfibres. These tiny plastic particles are released when washing any synthetic fibres, including ECONYL. It’s best to use a wash bag when its time to wash your goods as this can filter any microfibres and stop them from entering your grey water and causing environmental damage.
How do you package your products?
We use 100% recycled materials for our shipping mailers and boxes. Movement is wrapped in home-compostable bags to help eliminate single-use plastic waste.
Where do you manufacture?
Our yoga mats and activewear collection is manufactured in China. Our facilities specialise in eco-friendly textiles and production and guarantee fair wages, safe and healthy conditions for their employees and no forced or child labour.
Why China and not Australia?
Some of the best manufacturers for high-performance fabrics are located overseas. Quality is everything and after researching the capabilities within Australia we made the decision to manufacture offshore. Australia has some wonderful manufacturers and our heat packs and bolsters are all manufactured locally within Australia.
How much is Australian shipping?
Shipping is free to anywhere in Australia for all orders > $100. Flat rate shipping of $8 is available for all orders < $100.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, International shipping varies, please reach out for a quote: firstname.lastname@example.org
Do you offer returns?
For hygiene reasons, we don’t offer returns on our yoga mats. Our activewear can be returned within 14 days of purchase. We don’t offer refunds however if you’re not happy with your purchase (or it doesn’t fit) we will exchange for another style or size for you, just reach out: email@example.com
One of the biggest issues with yoga mat production is the usage of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and phthalates (an acidic plasticiser that is used to increase flexibility).
PVC leaves a heavy footprint on the planet. The manufacturing of PVC releases harmful dioxins (chemical pollutants) directly into our air and water. Once PVC is discarded, these dangerous chemicals can easily migrate into the groundwater poisoning nearby wetlands and streams. Phthalates are used in the production of PVC and are normally added to yoga mats to make them spongy and flexible. Phthalates are well known carcinogens and can wreak havoc on the endocrine system interfering with hormone regulation and causing reproductive disorders in humans. We love our corner of the planet and we're super keen to nurture it. Our mission is to create a yoga brand that brings awareness to human and environmental issues, in particular the use of PVC and plastic and their impact on the planet. Yin yoga mats are completely free from PVC, plastic, phthalates and toxic chemicals. Our yoga mats are manufactured from natural tree rubber that is sustainably captured in Sri Lanka via a process called rubber tapping. This process does not harm the tree and does not require any culling of forest or vegetation. Natural tree rubber is recyclable, and also biodegradable meaning it can be disposed of in either landfill or incineration without environmental damage. Our yoga mats are also shipped without any soft plastic. We ship via recycled (and recyclable) cardboard boxes without any single use plastic. If you have any questions related to our manufacturing process or the sustainability of our yoga mats, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
